The WSET Level 1 is for wine consumers looking for challenging wine classes and wanting to know more about the main grape varieties and food and wine pairings.
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines provides training in wine production, wine tasting, wine service, and the wines of the world to underpin job skills for those in the hospitality industry as well as wine enthusiasts who wish to acquire more in-depth knowledge. The course covers a range of topics including wine service & storage, wine tasting, wine production, and the local wines of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Hungary, the USA, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
Upon passing the final exam, students will receive a certificate and pin for their achievement. Should any student fail, they may retake the exam for $100.
The WSET recommends that students complete at least 11 hours of personal study outside the classroom hours during this course.
