Houston WSET Courses

The WSET Level 1 wine education class will introduce students, at a basic level, to the main styles of wine available, wine storage, and food and wine pairings.

This course is a beginner- to intermediate-level qualification suited for industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.  Students will learn about important wine grapes, the regions where they are grown, and the style and quality of the wines they produce.

The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits Wine Education Class is designed to give a thorough understanding of the principal wines and spirits of the world and their commercial importance in the world’s market.

The WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines is designed to give students specialist knowledge and understanding of the core principles of production and business of wine.  WSET Level 3 in Wines (or WSET Level 3 in Wines and Spirits) is a prerequisite for registration in the Diploma program.

The course will be held over 2 full days, for a total instruction time of 16 hours. An additional 80+ hours of independent study time is recommended.

The course will be held over one full day, for a total instruction time of 8 hours. An additional 40+ hours of independent study time is recommended.

The course will be held over 10 days, broken into 5 blocks of two days each.  An additional 170 hours of independent study time is recommended.

The course will be held over 2 days. An additional sixteen hours of independent study time is recommended.

The course will be held over 2 days. An additional sixteen hours of independent study time is recommended.

The course will be completed in a single day.

The WSET Level 2 in Spirits will cover the fundamental production methods and principal raw materials showcasing how they are used to make the key spirit styles. Students will explore the key practices and principles of serving spirits and the use of spirits in cocktails.
