The WSET Level 1 wine education class will introduce students, at a basic level, to the main styles of wine available, wine storage, and food and wine pairings.
WSET Level 1 Award in Wines: TTU Lubbock
Schedule: Three 3-hour classes
The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines provides vocational training in the broad range of alcoholic beverages to underpin job skills and competencies in the customer service and sales functions of the hospitality, retail, and wholesale industries. This introductory level class is ideal for wine enthusiasts in Central Texas who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of wines and spirits and want to obtain an internationally recognized wine qualification.
The exam fee is included in the course and upon passing the exam students will receive a certificate and pin for their achievement. Should a student fail the exam they may retake it for a $50 fee.
This class is held at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. WSET recommends a total of 6 hours of study in preparation for the exam, all of which will be covered during the class. For more information on course content please see the course specification here.
