Whether you're a hospitality professional looking to enhance your beverage credentials or a sake enthusiast eager to explore Japan’s iconic drink, the Sake Adviser Certification Course offers an immersive introduction to the world of sake.
Led by Atsuko Glick of the Sake School of America, this one day certification course covers:
- The rich history and cultural significance of sake in Japan
- Key ingredients and detailed brewing methods
- Sake terminology and how to read production labels
- Proper storage, selection, and service techniques
- Fundamentals of tasting, evaluating, and pairing sake with food
As part of the seminar, you'll participate in a guided tasting of 13 distinctive sakes, each chosen to highlight the diversity, complexity, and craftsmanship of modern sake.
The course concludes with a 1-hour online exam, typically held one week after the class. The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions based on the textbook and lecture content (no tasting portion required). A score of 75% or higher is needed to earn certification.
