The Riccardo Caflisch Memorial Scholarship in Italian Wine Studies

The Riccardo Caflisch Memorial Scholarship in Italian Wine Studies is named after the beloved uncle of one of our Italian instructors.  Zio “Uncle” Riccardo (1939-2000) had an unquenchable appetite for food, wine and life.  He enriched the lives of many, first as an oncologist in Udine and then as the director of a private high school and foreign language institute in Trieste.  His inquisitive mind, belief in continuing education and passion for hospitality provides a sound role model for any aspiring wine scholar.

Students applying for scholarships in Italian wine courses will automatically be considered for both the Riccardo Caflisch Memorial Scholarship and The Texas Wine School’s general scholarship.
