Five Wines, One Hillside, All Sangiovese: A Master Class with Piero Lanza of Poggerino
Join Piero Lanza, owner and winemaker of Poggerino in Radda in Chianti, for a guided tasting that isolates what shapes Sangiovese. Starting with a traditional-method Sangiovese rosé, the class moves through two side-by-side comparisons. The first pits large oak against a cement egg, with the same grape, hillside and native yeasts. The second tastes the single-vineyard Riserva "Vigna Bugialla" from two consecutive vintages, made the same way. Piero will lead the discussion of farming, vessel and vintage in Radda.
